Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to those who attended the Smart Phone Free Childhood presentation, sadly we were rather unrepresented. I have published the presentation further down and linked it on our internet safety page.
Our Kestrels have just returned from their residential trip to Tile Barn in Brockenhurst, and I'm delighted to report they arrived home safely after what sounds like an incredible adventure. These experiences are so important for our pupils' personal development and I know they'll have made fantastic memories.
I'm also thrilled to welcome Miss Askew to our team. She'll be working in Kingfisher class and I'm sure she'll be a fantastic addition to our school community.
Looking ahead to next week, there are several important dates to note:
On Tuesday, our Kestrels will be heading to Bohunt after school for a basketball event. I'm sure they'll represent our school brilliantly.
Thursday is a particularly special day. It's our census day, which means we're hoping every child will have a school meal. For our infant pupils, this is crucial as it directly impacts our school funding. The menu is a delicious roast - perfect for a midweek treat!
The same day is also our Grandparents Day celebration. Our infant classes have invited grandparents to join for lunch on Thursday / Friday and spend some time in school. This event is now fully booked and I know it will be a heartwarming occasion.
We're also hosting the Friends of Sheet School (FOSS) AGM on Thursday, 2nd October at 7pm in the school hall. I cannot stress enough how important this is. The fundraising FOSS does make an enormous difference to the experiences we can offer our pupils. We need new faces and fresh ideas, so please do come along if you can.
Finally, our Ground Force day is happening on Saturday, 4th October. We're looking to transform our front garden into a wildlife area and generally spruce up the school grounds. If you can help, we'd be incredibly grateful - and yes, bacon butties will be available! Can't make Saturday? Perhaps Friday might work for you?
Every bit of support makes a huge difference to our school community.
A few reminders:
If you are going to running club you need to bring/wear trainers and be there on time, it can't be a rolling start I'm afraid.
Uniform - we already have over 10 items of unnamed uniform - please remember to name everything and search for any lost items.
Parking:
We need to discuss parking around our school. Please be considerate: avoid blocking neighbours' drives, do not park outside the School House, and steer clear of double lines near the railway crossing. Parking is available in the village or further down Long Road. Thank you for your cooperation.
