Hello everyone,
What a fantastic week we've had at Sheet Primary School! We kicked things off with a special assembly led by Dom from the church, who got us all thinking about the meaning of Christmas. It's always wonderful to have members of our community share their insights with our pupils.
Speaking of new faces, we're thrilled to welcome Melissa Lack, who's joining us for a 6-month work experience placement. She'll be working alongside Robins Class on Tuesdays and Fridays, and we're excited to have her as part of our team.
Now, let's talk about our Cinderella play performances - weren't they just amazing? I'm bursting with pride at the talent and hard work our pupils displayed. A massive thank you to all the parents who helped with costumes, and to our incredible staff for writing, directing, set design, and rehearsing. You've all played a huge part in making this production a resounding success!
Kestrels class had a very special visitor this week - Adeel Shah, a local Muslim gentleman who was thoroughly impressed with our children's knowledge of Islam. It's experiences like these that really bring learning to life, helping our pupils understand the world's second-largest religion first-hand.
Don't forget, tonight's the night for our Santa Fun Run and mini Christmas fair. Everyone's welcome, so come along and join in the festive fun!
Looking ahead, we've got a busy final week of the Autumn term coming up. Please make sure to check the arrangements I've included below - we wouldn't want anyone to miss out!
For those of you who haven't heard yet, our Shine Radio episode has gone live. You can catch it at https://shineradio.uk/theppod/. It's well worth a listen!
Now, I've got a couple of requests for our wonderful community. We're still on the lookout for a co-opted governor, so please keep spreading the word. Also, is there anyone out there with grant writing experience who might have some time to help the school apply for bids? Your expertise would be invaluable to us. We are also looking for a regular library volunteer or volunteers, our lovely Mrs Wilby has other things on her plate at the moment and unfortunately can't help us after Christmas. No experience necessary just enthusiasm for helping!
Calpol - any donations would be gratefully received we go through it very quickly with 110 children on board.
Before I sign off, I just want to say how much I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the Santa Dash later. It's events like these that really bring our school community together.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone. Stay warm, stay safe, and don't forget to take a moment to enjoy the magic of the season!
Julie Robinson
