Hello everyone,
What a bustling week we've had at Sheet Primary! It's been fantastic to see our school community coming together in so many ways.
We kicked off with a special assembly on respect, led by Bruce, our local vicar. It's always a pleasure to welcome visitors who enrich our school day with important messages.
A massive thank you to all the parents who attended our parents' evenings. Your commitment to your child's education is truly heartening and makes a world of difference. I hope you found the meetings informative and helpful.
Our FOSS AGM was a roaring success! Your contributions have been instrumental in providing new classroom equipment, surface laptops for the pupils, funding for school trips, and mental health education to name but a few. The Herons are thoroughly enjoying their ukulele lessons, and Mrs Beenham is eagerly anticipating her Forest School Level 3 certification training – all thanks to FOSS!
The core team's volunteer hours are simply invaluable – you're the backbone of our school community. Looking ahead, we've got some exciting events on the horizon. There's a 'Spooky Sponsored Fun Run' planned for the Thursday before half-term break, and of course, our famous Sheet Fireworks on Saturday 9th November. Keep an eye on our Facebook pages and Classist for updates!
We're also thrilled to announce our new Junior Leadership Team members:
- Kingfishers: William and Freddie
- Herons: Piku and Enid
- Kestrels: Viaan and Thea
They'll be joining our new Head Pupils, Edison Childs and Macy Sutton, to help make our wonderful school even better. Some of the best ideas come from our pupils, after all!
Next week, I'll be taking five pupils to Bohunt School for the Y3/4 cross-country run. With our running track and the enthusiasm it's inspired, I'm sure we'll do brilliantly. Any Y3/4 pupils who haven't signed up yet, please do so over the weekend.
A huge thank you to those who've adjusted their drop-off routines – the school entrance was so calm and quiet this morning!
Speaking of road safety, congratulations to our Road Safety Poster winners:
- Millie (Kestrels)
- Enid (Herons)
- Olivia (Herons)
They'll each receive a tub of Mooka ice-cream tonight if they'd like – just come and get it! We'll be laminating the posters and putting them up outside school next week.
That's all for now. Here's to another week of learning, growing, and having fun at Sheet Primary!
Julie Robinson
PS: Lots of uniform unlabelled here in school, please dress for the weather we do not have the heating on yet!!
Enjoy the weekend all!
