Dear Parents/Carers
Hello everyone!
Well, what a week it's been at Sheet Primary! The rain might have finally arrived today, but it certainly hasn't dampened our spirits. There's so much to share with you all, so let's dive right in!
First off, I want to give a massive shout-out to our amazing swimmers who took part in the gala at Highfield School. The enthusiasm and team spirit were absolutely incredible! Our children were cheering each other on with such gusto, it was heartwarming to see. And guess what? We came second! What an achievement!
Year 5 had an action-packed day at TPS with their all-day sports event. It was fabulous from start to finish, and I'm sure they've got some great stories to tell. There's a news story attached if you want to read all about their adventures.
Now, for some important updates. Annual reports are going out today to all children, except for Year 6. We're holding off on theirs until Tuesday when we get the SATs results in. Fingers crossed for our brilliant Year 6s!
For those of you living nearby, there's a parish council meeting tonight at 6pm. They'll be discussing the extension of double yellow lines on School Lane. It's open to all, so if you've got something to say, pop along and make your voice heard!
Looking ahead to next week, it's all go as usual! It's the last week of school clubs, so make sure your little ones make the most of it. On Monday, we've got a special treat in assembly. Petersfield Library will be coming in to present their Summer Challenge. I can't stress enough how important it is to keep up with reading over the holidays, so I'd really encourage you all to get involved and become library members if you're not already.
Tuesday brings the annual teddy bears picnic! This is such a lovely event where our 'new recruits' and their parents get to meet the rest of the infants. Parents, you're more than welcome to come along too. Just remember to send your child with a small extra snack and, of course, their favourite teddy! Our Year 6's have their transition evening at TPS, good luck!
Thursday is going to be a busy one. Year 2 have a morning sports event at TPS, so they'll need to come in PE kits, with hats and water bottles. Meanwhile, Year 4 will be having their annual summer camp on the field. A big thank you to FOSS for donating breakfast for this!
Friday is our 'Shunt Up or Bump Up day'. After our weekly celebration assembly, the children will spend the day in their new class with their new teacher. We've got some new faces joining us who'll be starting in September, which is always exciting. At the end of the day, from 3:15pm to 4pm, you're all invited to come in and meet the new class and teacher. This year we've got another day planned for Friday 19th too. This approach really helps the children settle in, making for a smoother start in September.
Phew! I think that's everything for now. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open. Here's to another fantastic week at Sheet Primary!
