We have had a busy week which started on Sunday with 10 super speedy children entered into the Cocking 3k race. We had a wonderful morning running through the South Downs with many of our children coming in near the top 15 of their age group. Thank you to all the mums and dads who came along and well done to the runners. See story below.
We also had fun at Bohunt School with their Year 1/2 athletics meeting. See story below. The school nurses came in, African Beats entertained us with some songs and dances from Uganda, swimming lessons continued and the winners of our Wonka Chocolate Wrapper Competition were chosen and announced. Well done to everyone who entered. See photos below.
Winning Bar: Daniel G - Herons, runners up per class: Jasper - Robins, Evelyn - Kingfishers, Abby - Herons and Callie - Kestrels.
So on to next week!
Year 6 sit their SAT (Standard Assessment Tests) this week which will test them all on their maths, reading, punctuation, spelling and grammar. However we all know that it does not test their creativity, their curiosity, their kindness, their happiness and their unique and individual strengths. Relax over the weekend Year 6 (and parents) and enjoy your daily breakfasts!!
As the sunshine arrives, please make sure you have put suncream on your children before they come to school, that they have some cream labelled to replenish at lunchtime, they have a cap/hat and a water bottle.
We have been made aware that from the 17th May, Kingsferden Lane from the end of Long Road to Rams Hill will be closed whilst work on the level crossing takes place. At this moment, we are unaware whether pedestrian access will be available across the crossing.
We are starting to get quite a bit of lost property again. Please make sure everything is labelled that comes into school then we can reunite with the owner. If it is second-hand re-label, sounds obvious but ...
We have confirmed cases of slap cheek so please be aware of symptoms: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/slapped-cheek-syndrome
Enjoy the sunshine and see you tomorrow!
