Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the Summer Term! What a start we have had too.
On Tuesday the Year 1 and 2's visited the Tower of London as a fantastic finalle to their learning about The Great Fire of London. The children had an amazing time and the writing they have produced so far is wonderful! I will be displaying the top 3 Year 2 and Year 1 recounts next week.
Our Kestrels class went on a residential this week to the Tile Barn in Brockenhurst where we haven't been before, the weather was kind to them and they have just left school looking a little tired! I am sure we will hear all about it next week! A huge thank you to Mrs Hines, Mrs Repp, Mrs Newton and Mrs Ward who volunteered their (24 hour) time to ensure the children had a rewarding, safe and exciting experience. Also a big thank you to Mrs Cox who drove both ways in the mini-bus to collect the children. Thank you!
As the summer term gets underway, there are so many great things to look forward to: Herons will have 9 swimming lessons starting on 29th April at the open air pool with Kestrels having 2 lessons in June to get them ready for the annual 'Small School's Swimming Gala'. There are leavers plays, leavers assemblies, 'footsteps' visits, sports days and so much more. I love the summer term.
The postponed Robins Outdoor Tidy up morning is now on Saturday 27th April and all parents & relatives are welcome to come and give us a hand to build our newly delivered mud kitchen, reading shed, sweeping, painting, sorting & more fun! Please let the office know if you can spare an hour or so, we will be there 9.30 - 11.30 am.
Next week: Clubs start.
A few reminders: Snacks - snacks brought into school must be either a sandwich, fruit, vegetables again I am seeing cereal bars, fruit winders, cheese dips tec coming in. Thank you!
Have you checked out this website: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/. It can be tricky to know when to keep your child at home and when to bring them in. This guide is a useful checklist when making your decisions. It is also on out website.
Uniform: Now that we are at the beginning of a new school term, there is no excuse for wearing trainers on a non PE day. Once again PE sweatshirts are coming in with logos on. Please adhere to the school uniform regulations.
Have a good weekend let's hope Spring is finally here!
Mrs Robinson
