Match Report: Sheet Primary Girls Reach Final in Thrilling East Meon Tournament

On Tuesday morning, the Sheet Primary School Year 4/5/6 girls football team travelled to East Meon to compete in the annual girls football tournament – and what a day it turned out to be!

Thanks to the dedication of Mrs Mifsud, who had been running lunchtime training sessions in the lead-up to the event, the team arrived well-prepared and full of confidence. Her hard work with the girls truly paid off, as they showed determination, skill, and excellent teamwork throughout the day.

After a strong showing in the group stages, Sheet progressed to the semi-finals where they faced Froxfield. It was a tense and hard-fought match that ended in a draw, leading to a dramatic penalty shootout. The girls held their nerve and emerged victorious – a huge moment that was met with cheers and celebrations!

In the final, Sheet came up against a much larger school. Despite giving it their all and putting in a valiant performance, the opposition proved just too strong on the day. Though they didn’t take home the trophy, the Sheet girls walked away proudly with well-deserved medals and huge smiles on their faces.

    JRSO

Hello my name is Lucy Rose,

Me and a few other people from my class are part of a group called the JRSO team which stands for Junior Road Safety Officers.

Our aim is to make sure people are safe around roads and crossings. We make sure people are crossing safely and are aware of what is going on around them.

It is not just our school, it is all around the country.

We hope doing this job will spread the message as we want everyone to be safe.

We will be doing an assembly on Friday the 16th May to introduce ourselves and let you know how you can get involved.

    Thanks JRSO team

  • Science Day at Sheet, 14th March 2025

    Published 14/03/25

There was a buzz at school today as the whole school took part in science activities.

This year's theme was 'change', and our pupils got stuck into all sorts of experiments and projects.

Mrs Newton explored seasonal changes, Miss Buxey led planning sessions on regenerating our school grounds, Mrs Stead tackled river pollution with Lego (how cool is that?), and Mrs Beenham had the children building bridges. It was wonderful to see pupils of all ages working together so harmoniously.
